Identification Symptoms
- Grubs feed on stem and galls are formed in the stem and
petiole
- Swelling on the stem
just above the ground level
- Adults feed on leaf buds and terminal shoots
- Young plants are invariably killed
- Older plants that survive lack vigour and strength, breaks at the nodes due to strong wind
