Chemical management
- Swab
     coal tar + kerosene @ 1:2 or Carbaryl 50 WP 20 g/lit solution (basal
     portion of the trunk - 3 feet height) after scraping the loose bark to
     prevent egg laying.
- If
     infestations are severe then apply the copper oxychloride paste on the
     trunk of the tree.
- Put
     a celphos tablet (3g aluminium phosphide) or carbofuran 3G 5 g  per hole and plug it with mud
- The
     bore holes should be traced and opened. 
- A
     swab of cotton wool soaked in chloroform or petrol 5 ml or carbon
     disulphide or kerosene oil or dichlorvos 10 ml/lit is inserted in to the
     hole and sealed with mud.
- Methyl
     parathion 1 ml/lit poured in to the hole or tablet of aluminium phosphide inserted
     into the hole to kill the grub.
- When
     burrows are superficial, extract the grubs with stiff hooked wire and
     paint with Bordeaux paste.
