Cultural Management

  • Destroy the weed host Tinospora cardifolia and Coccules pendules
  • Collection and destruction of rotten and dropped fruits.
  • Adults are highly phototropic.
  • Put one fluorescent light trap/ha, one month before fruit maturation between 7.00 PM to 6.00 AM below which poison baits with sugar solution 1% + fruit pulp + Malathion 1 ml should be placed.
  • Apply smoke to prevent adult moth
  • Bagging of fruits with polythene or paper covers, though effective is rather expensive Trap crop – growing tomato crop in orchards to attract the adult moth
