Ornamental fish culture
· Ornamental fishes having an aesthetic value as well as export oriented
opportunities bear great demands in the country.
· Ornamental fish aquaculture is very little known in India, especially in
rural areas due to total lack of awareness.
· At present production of aquarium fishes does not cope with the demand
trend of domestic market.
· Pond, tanks, cemented tank and
aquarium and water logged rice ecology
can be used for breeding and culture of ornamental fishes, and considered as a
cash crop for farmers and women entrepreneurs.
