Livebearer species
- Guppies (Poeciliareticulata): The
     guppy species are live bearer and they breed profusely in the natural
     water. There are many varieties of guppies like Round tail, Fin tail, Veil
     tail and Cobra guppies etc. Male ones are identified due to bright colored
     tail fins. Adult healthy specimens of different species of guppies, both
     male and female at1:1 ratio are released in the   rice fields having at least 15  cm of water depth. They breed naturally.
- Molly (Mollinesia sp.) : They
     have types like, Sail-fin molly, Black molly, Moon-tail, Round tail,
     Chocolate molly, silver molly, Balloone molly have potential for culture
     in rice ecology.
- Sword tail (Xiphophorushelleri) with
     varieties like Red sword tail, Green sword tail, Sunset sword tail, Double
     sword tail.
- Small
     fishes like, Platy (Xiphophorusmaculatus)
     with many varieties like Round tail, Veil tail, Fringe tail, Lyre tail,
     Pin tail are suitable live bearer species for   culture in rice ecologies.
